How does one make Aliyah?

The first step in making Aliyah is to fill out an application. Once you have filled out your application, you will be assigned an Aliyah advisor who will help you determine your Aliyah status and what documents you will need. The following steps are to gather the required documents and interview with a Jewish Agency, Shaliach (representative). Once you receive your approval, you will receive an Aliyah visa and book your flight!
Knowledge is key. EasyLanding will help you be better prepared for your move to and life in Israel.

STEP 1: The Aliyah Application

The process begins with you completing an Aliyah application with the Jewish Agency. Be prepared that the process can take between 8-10 months – so plan your estimated Aliyah date (your move date) accordingly. There is a bureaucratic process of uploading copies of relevant documents to determine your eligibility and status with the Jewish agency.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

STEP 2: Shaliach Preparation

Arrange an Aliyah eligibility interview with your local Jewish Agency for Israel Shaliach

A key early requirement of the Aliyah process is to have an interview with a local Aliyah Shaliach, a Jewish Agency for Israel representative, who will review your application process.

You will be notified of what documents you need to supply based on your responses. Depending on your circumstances, additional documents may be requested at any stage in the process.

A critical step in understanding Israeli Bureaucracy (similar to American Bureaucracy) – is always to be prepared to present and provide critical documents again to your meeting (typically, they will be returned to you during your meeting as they are photocopied for your application).

When all your documents are ready and your application process is complete, your Aliyah advisor will contact the Jewish Agency to arrange an interview.

STEP 3: The Interview

In North America, The Jewish Agency works closely with Nefesh b’Nefesh. You will complete an application through them. We at Easy Landing will assist you! At the interview, The Jewish Agency staff will explain the Aliyah benefits, recommend absorption programs, give general advice and check your original documents. Please know that Easy Landing will provide you with as much advance notice as possible.

STEP 4: Eligibility

Receive notification of eligibility for Aliyah. If you have requested to sign up for a Jewish Agency absorption program, you will be notified regarding acceptance.

STEP 5: Visa

The Jewish Agency will coordinate the application for an Aliyah visa (if you are already an Israeli citizen this step is not necessary).
